NH Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency (NHDFMR), proudly celebrating 30 years of excellence in graduate medical education, is seeking a collaborative, forward-thinking leader to join our team as an Associate Program Director (APD).
NHDFMR is a longstanding, highly successful 8-8-8 ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program dedicated to educating family physicians who are competent, compassionate, and community-based leaders. Our program emphasizes population health, systems thinking, and caring for underserved populations.
Position Overview
The Associate Program Director role is comprised of two APDs who work collaboratively under the direction of the Program Director to support all aspects of the residency program. Together, the APDs oversee the progressive graduate medical education program, ensure ongoing ACGME compliance, support faculty development, and promote excellence in resident education.
The position includes a balanced combination of direct patient care, resident precepting and mentorship, and dedicated time for NHDFMR program leadership and Associate Program Director responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide shared leadership and oversight of the Family Medicine Residency Program in collaboration with the Program Director and fellow APD
Deliver direct patient care within the residency’s clinical practice sites
Supervise and precept residents in the clinical setting and provide direct teaching and didactics
Ensure ongoing ACGME compliance and lead continuous program improvement efforts
Support curriculum development, evaluation, and innovation
Advise and mentor residents, supporting professional development and wellness
Participate in required committees, including Clinical Competency and Program Evaluation
Contribute to faculty development and recruitment of residents and faculty
Engage in scholarly activity and professional development, including participation in national conferences such as the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine
Advance leadership development, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the program’s mission to serve underserved and diverse populations
Qualifications
MD / DO
ABFM Board Certified/Eligible Physician
DEA Certification
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as core faculty in an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program
Demonstrated commitment to graduate medical education and faculty development
Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills
