Job Summary: This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026. Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Not Authorized Compressed/Flexible: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized The incumbent will provide care for patients in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine with a primary focus on Veterans either referred for obstructive lung diseases, interstitial lung diseases, abnormal imaging or respiratory symptoms in the outpatient and inpatient settings or are admitted with critical illness to the intensive care unit. Major Duties/Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Educates patients about Pulmonary/Critical Care medicine related care and prescribes treatment. Conducts physicals assessments, orders tests and serve as a patient's Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine provider. Serves as a PA Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine subject matter expert for a variety of specialty treatment programs within their area of service. Leads and organizes delivery of care to assure continuity of care and peer accountability for practice, including access to care. Uses advanced clinical knowledge/judgment to promote staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating outcomes. Functions as an expert in clinical practice and/or areas related to the assigned roles and responsibilities. Evaluates current practice and formulates outcomes for groups of patients and/or organizational processes within an area of expertise. Guides, develops, and support staff from a leadership perspective. Evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and provides consultation for adult patients of all ages, without life-threatening complications. Assesses, stabilizes, and determines disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. Functions in a team-based setting, including acute and chronic disease management in Pulmonary/Critical Care. Work Schedule: Full-Time, 8:00a-4:30p. Subject to change based on the needs of the agency.

Qualifications: Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Physician Assistant Basic Requirements Master's degree in any discipline or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant ~AND~ Successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (or are you in the process to taking the exam) ~AND~ Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
