Program Specialist I, under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development and implementation of the Physician Assistant Medicine Program. This is a 12-month, on-site position located on Tarleton’s main campus in Stephenville, Texas. The standard work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., or as work requirements indicate which may include occasional evenings or weekends. This position also serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
This position reports directly to the Program Director for the Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Medicine Program. Responsibilities include assisting with admissions and enrollment processes; providing administrative and program support; maintaining departmental communications; managing records and ensuring compliance; and providing general office support.
Responsibilities
27.5% Program Support:
Assists and maintain course/clinical instructor/clinical agency evaluations.
Assists and coordinate program orientations.
Plans and develops specialized programs such as conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, workshops, and tours.
Plans, implements, coordinates, analyzes, monitors, and evaluates administrative support functions.
Assists in the development and maintenance of budget.
22.5 % Admissions and Enrollment Processes:
Oversees the program admission processes.
Works closely the Program Director for student recruitment, outreach, and open houses.
Reviews and monitors the CASPA portal as well as supplemental application materials, coordinates the interview process.
Prepares admissions reports and analyzes trends and acts as a liaison to the Graduate of College Studies.
22.5% Program Communications:
Develops and maintains department's web page.
Maintains program's brochures with current information.
Coordinates specialized program communications and marketing.
Attends program’s meeting.
22.5% Records and Compliance Management:
Maintains department's filing system for student's records.
Assists in the development and documentation of departmental policies and procedures.
Assists in the preparation and maintenance of special reports and other required documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
5% Other Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience preferred but not required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of word processing and spread applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Salary Range:
The target base annual salary range is $41,000 up to $50,761 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
