Job Summary:

At our clinic in New Braunfels, TX under the direction of the Physician, the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Dermatology is responsible for handling patient appointments and performing routine examinations to ensure patient health. Their duties include speaking with their patients about healthy lifestyle choices for their age, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain updated medical records.

Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Dermatology Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct thorough skin examinations and consultations.
  • Diagnose and treat common dermatological conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis.
  • Perform minor dermatological procedures, including biopsies and cryotherapy.
  • Educate patients on skin care practices and preventative measures.
  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans for various skin conditions.
  • Assist dermatologists in advanced procedures and surgeries.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care policies.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in dermatology through continuous education.
  •  Provide post-treatment care and follow-up with patients.
  • Certification from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Prior experience in a dermatology setting.
  • Strong knowledge of dermatological conditions and treatments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform dermatological procedures accurately.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Current Physician Assistant licensure in the State of Texas.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Master of Science in Nursing (NP or PA) from an accredited program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong clinical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing
  • Board Certification
  • Valid, unrestricted TX license (or willing to obtain)
  • BLS
