Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)
This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job.A Brief OverviewWorks under the specific guidance of a Physical Therapist to provide treatment of patients using specific modalities and treatment techniques, based on the care plan developed by the therapist. Accurately documents care and communicates with appropriate team members. Proactively participates in individual and department continuous improvement activities.

What you will do- Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, performs direct patient care by carrying out individual treatment programs to maintain, improve and restore function, alleviate pain and/or prevent physical dysfunction.
- Monitor and report patient’s response to treatment via pain scale, vital signs and/or by patient report or their acceptable methods with respect to their ability to perform tasks and advise therapist appropriately.
- Appropriately fit the patient with assistive devices and DME and educate them on the appropriate use.
- Uses safe practices including proper body mechanics, use of equipment and lift coach, and personal protective equipment as needed when working with patients.
- Employ physical agents, manual techniques, and therapeutic exercise safely and appropriately as directed by the supervising therapist. Able to assist in establishing and monitoring a home program.
- Document in patient charts as appropriate following department standards, policies and guidelines.
- Assists with department and organizational quality improvement programs.
- Practices accurate billing practices to bill for treatment daily and maintaining standards for direct patient care.
- Participates in patient satisfaction performance improvement programs.
- As an inpatient Physical Therapy Assistant, assists with discharge planning by making recommendations regarding equipment needs, discharge disposition or referral to other medical practitioner, etc.
- Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Health Care – Tri-Valley’s patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions.
Education Qualifications- Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited university. Preferred
Experience Qualifications- 2+ years to 3 years of experience Preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Good physical condition which requires moderate lifting of equipment and patients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational ability.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in MS suite of tools.
- Ability to work varied shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays as assigned.
Licenses and Certifications- PTA - Phys Therapy Asst required . and
- Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $38.12 - $49.45 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
