Saint Luke's Hospital currently has an opening for a Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant. The role of a physical therapist assistant is vital in enhancing patient care and quality of life. Working under the guidance of a physical therapist, these professionals are responsible for implementing patient care components, collecting treatment-related data, and collaborating with the PT to adjust care as needed.
Shift:
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized, patient-centered treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Selecting appropriate interventions according to the established plan of care.
- Assisting in the periodic reassessment of patient progress and contributing to discharge planning.
- Supervising treatment provided by physical therapy assistant students.
- Participating in discussions and making recommendations for client care interventions with the interdisciplinary health care team.
- Reporting any changes in patient status or needs to the supervising therapist promptly.
- Delegating and instructing supportive personnel in the services to be provided.
- Ensuring timely documentation in accordance with department policies and insurance requirements.
- Utilizing professional judgment to maintain safety for self, patients, and others at all times.
- Engaging in quality initiatives and performing additional duties as requested by management.
This role is essential for fostering effective rehabilitation and promoting patient education.
