Description:

St. Mary Medical Center is actively seeking a part time, Physical Therapy Aide to work at our Cornerstone Therapy location.

St. Mary Physical Therapy at Cornerstone focuses on orthopedic and muscular rehabilitation. Experienced, certified therapists integrate evidence-based treatments, leading-edge technologies, and adaptive techniques to promote recovery from surgery, injury or degenerative disease, such as arthritis. Our off-campus expansion of physical therapies makes access to a quality rehabilitation program more convenient to the community.

The PT Aide is a health team member whose primary functions are to perform designated tasks related to the operations of the Therapy Departments and to assist in patient treatment under the direct supervision of a Licensed Therapist/ Therapist Assistant. This person may assist in the treatment of acute care patients, and outpatients of all ages from neonate to geriatrics with a broad spectrum of diagnoses.
  • Administers basic treatments such as moist heat/cold packs under the direct supervision of a Licensed/Certified Therapist and/or Assistant.

  • Assists therapist in patient handling tasks while using safe body mechanics

  • Assists patients in their established therapeutic exercise routine under the direct supervision of a Licensed/Certified Therapist and/or Assistant.

  • Transports patients to/from therapy sessions. 

  • Completes daily temperature logs on required equipment and documents accurately.

  • Reports any equipment malfunction through proper channels.

  • Performs clerical duties as directed.

  • Rotates through the various therapy areas and generally anticipates the needs of the therapists as it relates to the patient's care.

  • Demonstrates competency via successful completion of annual departmental skills checklist.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

2-4 years of experience preferred.

Schedule: 
Mon/Tues/Thurs: 1:00pm - 6:00pm 
Wednesday: 9am-2pm
