Job Description
Location: Blaine CHD, Canadian CHD, Garfield CHD, Grant CHD, Kingfisher CHD, Logan CHD, and Major CHD.
Salary:
Level I: up to $56,088.00, based on education and experience
Level II: up to $63,000.00, based on education and experience
Level III: up to $66,205.00, based on education and experience
Level IV: up to $68,000.00, based on education and experience
Full Time /Part Time: Full Time
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
Primary Hours: 8-5
Position Description:
The Physical Therapist is responsible for SoonerStart is Oklahoma’s early intervention program designed to meet the needs of families with infants and toddlers (ages birth to 3 years old) with developmental delays and/or disabilities in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The program builds upon and provides supports and resources to assist family members to enhance infants or toddler’s learning and development through everyday learning opportunities.
The Physical Therapists in the SoonerStart program is primarily responsible to examine and treat children with physical impairments and/or difficulties through the use of physical modalities. The goal is to assist the caregiver and child with physical challenges to improve mobility and function to increase independent movement and other skills necessary for functioning in daily routines.
This position is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services in the areas of Physical Therapy. Services are provided in the child’s natural environment settings in which children typically spend time, for example, home or childcare. Services include screenings, evaluations, intervention, and parent education.

Minimum Qualifications:
Level I: Requirements at this level consist of a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and a current Oklahoma license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. Preferred candidates hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Level II: Requirements at this level consist of a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and a current Oklahoma license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision plus one year of professional experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. Preferred candidates hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Level III: Requirements at this level consist of a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and a current Oklahoma license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision plus two years of professional experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. Preferred candidates hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Level IV: Requirements at this level consist of a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and a current Oklahoma license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision plus two years of professional experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. Plus, four years of professional experience as a licensed Physical Therapist; or an advanced level Master’s degree or Doctorate in pediatric rehabilitative services, pediatric physical therapy, special education, or a closely related field may be substituted for only 2 years of the required experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of the principles, practices and ethics of professional Physical therapy; of therapeutic techniques and their application; and of the materials used in Physical therapy programs. Ability is required to use therapeutic equipment and materials; to evaluate various skills and abilities; to establish effective working relationships with others; and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to mentor Physical Therapy interns during their field work experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in the child’s natural environment (home or childcare setting) or in an office environment with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise level. Telework and the provision of services remotely may also be required. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms and may lift up to 35 pounds. Applicants must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with any of these positions. Occasional in-state overnight and weekend travel may be required. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
