Physical Therapist Assistant
Full Time, First Shift
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will treat patients, maintain communication with doctors and other health personnel, supervise aides, volunteers, support staff, and students under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist in compliance with the Kentucky State Board of Physical Therapy Practice Act.
Job Duties:
- Provide services to improve functional independence and/or reduce pain such as therapeutic procedures/exercises or activities to promote ROM, strength, coordination, balance, functional mobility (bed mobility, transfers, floor transfers), ADL training, gait training, balance and vestibular training, education, and use of assistive devices.
- Complete documentation for treatment notes and D/C summaries in a timely manner.
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending discharge disposition and assistive equipment needs.
Requirements:
- Associates in a Physical Therapist Assistant Program
- Eligible for a temporary license or Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the Kentucky Board of Physical Therapy
