Qualifications: Requirements Continued... As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated. This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience includes performing physical security duties for the protection of cultural and/or natural resources, visitors, facilities, and assets; conducting security assessments; developing and implementing physical security plans; managing electronic and mechanical security systems; and ensuring compliance with Departmental and agency physical security policies. Experience must also include serving as, or assisting with the duties of related to structural fire management, such as overseeing alarm systems, coordinating fire inspections, and supporting the development and implementation of agency structural fire program requirements. . You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above that may be used to meet total qualification requirements. This combination can be computed by first determining the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required; then determining the education as a percentage of the education required; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentage equals 100 percent. D. I do not possess the specialized experience or education stated above. You must include transcripts. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. ICTAP/CTAP Statement: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection.
