Job Summary: You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENTIST/OCEANOGRAPHER/DATA SCIENTIST in the FULL SPCETRUM GEOINT BRANCH (NP213) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Qualifications: For PHYSICAL SCIENTIST: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing image derived bathymetry to provide scientific conclusions derived from the data gathered. Experience utilizing principles and techniques related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Experience deriving solutions based on physical science data gathered, relaying information to an interdisciplinary team of scientists. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing image derived bathymetry and satellite oceanography to conduct data analysis. Experience planning, organizing, conducting, and administering seagoing and land-based study of ocean phenomena for the purpose of interpreting, predicting, utilizing, and controlling forced and events. Experience deriving solutions based on physical science data gathered, relaying information to an interdisciplinary team of scientists. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing scientific and technical data evaluation, correlation, derivation, fusion and presentation of oceanographic and bathymetric data. Experience creating scripts or programs (e.g., Python, C++, Java, etcetera) to enhance data analysis. Experience utilizing established procedures to design new analysis standards, quality control techniques, and new procedures.
