Van Andel Institute (VAI) is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Philanthropy Database Administrator to manage constituent information within our philanthropy database. This individual will also field and resolve donor questions, internal inquiries and requests as well as maintain the integrity of the database through queries, reports and cleanup procedures. You must also be skilled and willing to train users in consistent application of the database, ensure that all users in the department enter data and create reports seamlessly and help identify efficiencies to maximize database utilization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related field degree with five or more years of experience in research analytics, philanthropy database management or related field.
  • Experience with prospect research and constituent database queries.
  • Experience with a large database, data analysis, or information databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate financial mathematical and statistical concepts.
  • Basic project management skills, including ability to create an implementation/roll-out plan, identify and track milestones, track and manage deliverables.
  • Ability to utilize a methodical approach to independently identify issues, initiate solutions and to enhance processes and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in non-profit organization preferred.
