Engineering Interns
who are eager to learn, experiment, and contribute to real‑world systems in a fast‑paced environment.
This internship gives you hands‑on experience across multiple technology domains. You will have the opportunity — and are expected — to learn and contribute across Platform Engineering, AI/ML, DevSecOps, and Testing, depending on project needs.
You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, product managers, and architects to support the design, development, and scaling of PHI’s digital health products.
As a Engineering Intern, your typical week might include the following.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into working prototypes or features.
Support UI development using modern web technologies.
Assist with integration between frontends and backend services.
Contribute to maintaining and enhancing CICD and DevSecOps pipelines.
Participate in code reviews and follow team coding standards and best practices.
Stay curious about emerging tech across frontend, AI/ML, cloud, DevSecOps, and testing automation.
1. Platform Engineering
Learn and apply fundamentals of cloud‑native engineering, including Linux basics, networking, system design fundamentals, and distributed systems concepts.
Assist in building and maintaining platform components, such as internal developer platforms, API gateways, service meshes, and observability pipelines.
Understand how core platform services work end‑to‑end:
compute (containers, serverless),
networking (ingress, load balancing),
storage (object stores, databases),
IAM and security controls.
Support the engineering teams by enabling smooth onboarding onto platform tools, templates, and automation.
Learn how CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, security tooling, and monitoring integrate into platform workflows.
2. AI/ML
Support data cleaning, feature engineering, and model experimentation.
Assist in evaluating ML models for accuracy and performance.
Learn how ML concepts integrate into product workflows (e.g., recommendations, fraud/risk scoring, intelligent automation).
3. DevSecOps
Learn to work with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
Explore containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).
Assist in implementing basic automated security practices (linting, scanning, secret management, dependency checks).
4. QA & Test Engineering
Participate in writing and executing test cases (manual + automated).
Learn about Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or similar testing frameworks.
Validate UI flows, API responses, test data, and integration scenarios across systems.
You could be the right candidate if you have
· Students or recent graduates in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
· Basic familiarity with platform engineering (Java, JS, Python, Databases, Google Cloud).
· Interest or coursework in AI/ML, Cloud, DevOps, or Software Testing.
· Curious, self‑driven, and willing to learn anything required — frontend, AI/ML, DevSecOps, Testing, or tools you’ve never used before.
· Good communication and collaboration skills.
· Able to thrive in a fast‑paced, agile, zero‑to‑one environment.
