The Medicare Quality Pharmacy Technician Supervisor leads a high‑performing team of pharmacy technicians in a fast‑paced, call‑center environment dedicated to improving Medicare Star medication adherence and other government program outcomes. This hands‑on leadership role is ideal for a pharmacy professional who thrives on coaching, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will guide daily operations, monitor quality and productivity, and actively support member and provider outreach when needed—ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a patient‑centered, results‑driven culture. Job Summary

Provide front line leadership and direction to the customer care pharmacy staff to ensure that the quality and productivity goals and standards for Priority Health are being met. This is a people development role focused on providing continuous feedback to the staff regarding individual performance, and overall departmental performance. Continually assess and recommend opportunities to improve the overall performance of the department and individual team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of pharmacy technicians supporting Medicare Quality programs in a fast‑paced, production‑driven call center environment.
  • Supervise daily call center operations, including workflow management, case assignments, scheduling, timekeeping, and productivity oversight to ensure service level, quality, and adherence goals are consistently met.
  • Drive measurable improvements in Medicare Star medication adherence measures through structured performance management, quality monitoring, and continuous process improvement.
  • Monitor performance metrics including adherence outcomes, call quality, documentation accuracy, productivity, and customer service standards; analyze trends and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to pharmacy leadership.
  • Conduct regular call monitoring, quality audits, and structured coaching sessions to ensure compliance with Medicare regulations, HIPAA, organizational policies, and departmental quality standards.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations, including the development and implementation of counseling and performance improvement plans in alignment with human resources guidelines.
  • Identify individual and team training needs; support onboarding, education, and ongoing development related to Medicare Stars, MTM, DMP, workflow changes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and functional resource for the technician team, supporting benefit interpretation, quality initiatives, and operational best practices.
  • Participate in inbound and outbound member and provider outreach calls as needed to support operational demands, quality outcomes, and team performance goals.
  • Support Medication Therapy Management (MTM) program activities, including case audits, compliance reviews, member opt‑outs, scheduling Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs), and related reporting requirements.
  • Support the CMS Drug Management Program (DMP) by gathering required information and coordinating case management review with licensed clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on quality improvement initiatives, special projects, and Priority Health and Corewell Health organizational initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of experience with an emphasis in Pharmaceutical in health care retail or insurance industry
  • Minimum of 4 years pharmacy experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy, preferable in a leadership role
  • Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential and active state pharmacy technician license
  • Knowledge of Medicare Stars measures, MTM programs, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, pharmacy compliance)

Preferred

  • 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting
  • 2+ years of pharmacy technician experience in managed care, PBM, retail, specialty, mail order, or call center environment
  • Experience managing performance metrics in a production-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and evaluate staff to improve productivity and quality outcomes
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills
