The successful candidate:
Under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist, the Sr Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of patient medications. Incumbents will assist in maintaining inventory and stock medications throughout the hospital, utilizing pharmacy inventory systems. Incumbents will also assist with daily required review of regulatory paperwork and maintain patient billing records.
Demonstrate competency in aseptic compounding of sterile IV preparations in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines, including but not limited to TPN, IV drips, and chemotherapy.
Procure and distribute medication orders per physician or pharmacist requests or pre-arranged work assignments according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Assist with maintaining adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established inventory control levels.
Assist with the management of the automated dispensing machines reporting for quality and regulatory measures.
Assist with pharmacy workflow by streamlining phone calls to the appropriate staff member and delivery of patient specific medications to departments throughout the facility.
Participate in departmental and hospital quality assurance programs with an emphasis on patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Assist with regulatory-required monthly unit inspections for all departments that stock medications.
Contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the department.
Maintain all functional competencies required for current job title/position.

Position Qualifications
Minimum Education: High School or equivalent (e.g., GED certification)
Minimum Experience: 2 – 4 years prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician
