The Pharmacy Technician – Regulatory supports the Medication Safety team in maintaining regulatory compliance across community, specialty, and home delivery pharmacy service lines within the Ohio market. Working alongside regulatory technicians, coordinators, and pharmacists, this role assists with accreditation readiness, sterile compounding oversight, and regulatory compliance for hospitals, ambulatory centers, and Family Health Centers. Responsibilities include preparing for surveys and audits, conducting compliance assessments, documenting findings, supporting action plans, inspecting physical environments, reviewing charts and inventory practices, and assisting with regulatory projects. This role requires regular travel to various locations to evaluate operations and ensure adherence to accreditation and safety standards.

A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm. No holiday, on-call or weekend requirements. Can work from home 3 days per week and travel to on-site 2 times per week – offered after first 90 days.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Ensure legislative, regulatory, rule, accreditation and CC policy and procedural consistency with respect to medication use in the ambulatory patient care setting.
  • Monitor and evaluate the completion of monthly inspections conducted by the site manager.
  • Interact with state, federal and non-governmental regulatory agencies on various medication use issues.
  • Develop and modify policies and procedures for approval by department leadership.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Three years of Pharmacy Technician experience in an inpatient hospital environment or equivalent environment

Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:

  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR the National HealthCareer Association (NHA)
  • AND it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee.  If certified but current status with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) is Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee it is required to update registration status to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program
  • Prior inpatient experience OR retail/community pharmacy background

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • While walking, stooping, bending and reaching; ability to transport 240 lb. cart.

Personal Protective Equipment:
