Job Description

The Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for assisting Pharmacists in all aspects of pharmaceutical care including processing and distribution of all drug and IV orders.

Department: Pharmacy

Hours: Part-Time, 20 hours a week

Shift: Evening/weekend hours

Required: High School, IL pharmacy technician License within 60 days of hire, Certified pharm technician within 2 years of hire

Pay: Based on experience, starting at $16.94 an hour.

Sign on bonus $500.00

Responsibilities

Answers the door and telephone. Assists customers with inquiries, questions and concerns., Checks pharmacy stock for drugs that need to be reordered., Completes General Employee Orientation, On-Line Interactive Education (OLIE), and All other Competency assessments related to the position of Pharmacy Technician., Count out register and make sure there is change daily., Maintains a clean and uncluttered work environment., Make ice packs and order drugs for Hospice comfort packs., Monitors assigned section for outdated drugs. (In Prairie Pharmacy)., Obtain and maintain Illinois Pharmacy Technician Certification within 2 years of hire. (Exception: Pharmacist Students are not required by the state of IL to obtain Certification), Obtain and maintain Illinois Pharmacy Technician Licensure within 60 days of hire., Pick up and deliver mail and orders to the storeroom daily., Pick up outdated drugs from Inpatient Pharmacy and dispose of properly., Processes departmental paperwork as needed., Processes medication orders accurately and in a timely manner. Files processed orders upon completion., Process IDB orders for clinics, Take medications for employees to lab for couriers to deliver to clinics.

Requirements

High School (Required)Certified Pharmacy Technician (within 2 years of hire) or Pharmacist Student Certificate - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (within 60 days of hire) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
