Job Summary: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: You will serve as a dispensing pharmacy technician performing duties that can range from routine to difficult; receiving and reviewing prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals to include controlled drugs on the formulary.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes filling prescriptions, distributing pharmaceuticals, and utilizing pharmacy based computer systems gained in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or in pharmaceutical firms or laboratories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes filling prescriptions, distributing pharmaceuticals, and utilizing pharmacy based computer systems gained in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or in pharmaceutical firms or laboratories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Education: At least one half year (9 semester hours) of graduate-level education in Pharmacology or a related field of study, from an accredited college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.). Combination Education and Experience: Have some specialized experience as described in the specialized experiece, but less than one year; and I have less than half a year of graduate level education as described in Education. Compute the percentage of the requirements that are meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divided your total months of qualifying experience by 13. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.)
