Pharmacy Technician Apprentice Training Program - 1/5/26 start

Pharmacy Technicians prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. They may measure, mix, and count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. They may enter prescriptions into the system according to the order and bill through the proper insurance.
Apprenticeship Summary:
Start Date: 1/5/2026, 1/12/25 or 1/19/2026
Time to complete – 1 year
This apprenticeship is 2000 hours of on-the-job training at Children’s Wisconsin Skywalk Retail Pharmacies with 144 related instruction hours from Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC).
Apprentices receive an hourly wage while training.
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will have received the training foundation to take your pharmacy technician certification.

Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Passion to want to work in healthcare as a pharmacy technician. At Children’s Wisconsin, your role as an apprentice directly supports the care and well-being of Wisconsin kids and families.
Must enroll in the Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program through Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) if offered this opportunity.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
Ability to work with a diverse patient population to promote a culturally competent environment.
