Position Summary

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Pharmacy Manager holds a key role in comprehensive management, overseeing the delivery of alternate site/home health pharmacy services tailored to meet customer needs. This involves ensuring cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity in alignment with Infusion Partners' policies, procedures, and relevant laws/regulations. Active participation in annual internal in-services is essential to staying abreast of industry advancements and maintaining a high standard of service.


Position Specific Responsibilities

  • Develops staff skills and competence through training and development.
  • Supervises and participates in the timely and competent provision of patient intake and assessments; patient care coordination; drug compounding; dispensing and distribution activities (including obtaining prescriptions, generating labels, and completing monitoring activities); clinical monitoring activities and patient care planning; Pharmacy Quality Control and Environmental Monitoring per USP 797.
  • Fulfills all required documentation activities.
  • Assesses and provides infusion equipment and supplies to patients and demonstrates other functions necessary to provide patient care.
  • Understands billing, reimbursement, case management, and other third-party payer requirements/implications for pharmacy products and services.
  • Participates in sales and marketing efforts as required.
  • Participates in the Quality/Performance improvement program and activities.
  • Fulfills the duties of the pharmacist or pharmacy technician when necessary.
  • Holds regular staff meetings to gather and disseminate information.
  • Establishes positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Meets expectations for customer satisfaction and anticipates customer needs.
  • Handles customer complaints in a fair and empathetic manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
  • Promotes a culture of excellence by providing quality, comprehensive services to all customers through a team approach.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
  • Advanced Pharmacy, or Pharm.D. degree preferred.
  • Continuing education is necessary to maintain current licensure in all states and attend all required internal in-services per year.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a management/supervisory role and IV experience required.
  • Experience in home health care preferred.


Skills

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces integrated healthcare at home philosophy.


Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Current state (WI) pharmacy license required.


Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Adaptations can be made to accommodate team members with disabilities. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In a healthcare setting, exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and conditions typical to the field is expected. Routine use of standard medical equipment and tools associated with clinical care is essential. Estimated salary range $100000 - $138000 / year. Actual salary will vary by geographic location and experience.
