Pharmacy Intern (Graduate - Summer 2026)

Position Purpose: As a Pharmacy Intern on our team, you will be empowered to grow your clinical, managerial, and leadership skills through hands-on experience within a dynamic Specialty Pharmacy environment. You will gain exposure to key processes and workflows across the specialty industry while supporting projects that advance AcariaHealth’s Product and Clinical Strategy initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with clinical pharmacists, nurses, account managers, and other subject matter experts to help drive high-quality patient care and support the development of innovative clinical programs—including the creation of a Specialty Pharmacy Nurse Training Program for manufacturer-supported initiatives.

Duties:

  • Contribute to and help develop training materials, guides, nurse education modules, and other clinical program documents to support building a Specialty Pharmacy Nurse Training Program for manufacturer- supported initiatives
  • Participate in manufacturer and payor quarterly business review documentation and data analysis
  • Review drug information literature to make evidence-based clinical decisions
  • Support quality initiatives to improve appropriate medication use
  • Perform quality review via user acceptance testing of decision tools in proprietary systems
  • Convey knowledge of clinical savings capabilities and opportunities in applied markets
  • Learn various clinical services that specialty pharmacies provide to clients
  • Receive exposure to managed care pharmacy utilization and specialty pharmacy components
  • Assist in developing and tracking ever evolving patient care outcomes and goals as it pertains to quality improvement initiatives in the pharmacy space
  • Other duties, as assigned

Skills:

  • Strong interest in specialty pharmacy, clinical program development, and drug information.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, including the ability to collaborate with clinical pharmacists, nurses, account managers, and manufacturer partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and quality to all work.
  • Ability to interpret and apply medical terminology, insurance terminology, and specialty pharmacy workflow concepts.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, concise, and user-friendly documents.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a remote environment, maintaining productivity, meeting deadlines, and communicating proactively with the team.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent undergraduate coursework completed. Must be actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited pharmacy school and have completed at least the second year of academic training. Pharmacy experience strongly preferred.

Pay Range: $21-30/hour

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
