  • Department and location: Pharmacy, Parklea Correctional Centre 

  • Salary: $64,364 - $81,969 + super

About the role 

 

Join our dedicated onsite healthcare team at Parklea Correctional Centre, providing high-quality care in a unique and rewarding environment. These Pharmacy Assistant/Technician positions are available through to 30 September 2026, coinciding with the conclusion of St Vincent’s contract at Parklea. 

  • The max term full-time role would see you working a rotating roster, 10-hour shifts, 6am to 5pm 

  • The casual roles would see you typically being invited to work to backfill planned and unplanned staff leave, 6am to 5pm or as otherwise required 

  • Assist with the preparation, ordering and administering of medications 

  • Coordinate patient release medication supplies, and ensure pharmacy stores are well-maintained 

  • Perform critical monitoring tasks such as documenting fridge temperatures 

  • Maintaining pharmacy equipment and assist with accepting medication deliveries 

  • Assisting pharmacists to witness OTP administration 

About you 

  • Qualification in a relevant field recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia or Certificate III or IV issued by a Registered Training Organisation in Hospital and Community Pharmacy or equivalent experience 

  • Experience of dispensing of pharmaceuticals in a hospital or community pharmacy setting 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislative requirements relating to pharmaceuticals 

  • For max term, you need to be able to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays 

  • For casual, ideally you need to be open to a range of shift opportunities as they present themselves

About Parklea 

 

In this role you will be based at Parklea Correctional Centre. 

  • A major Sydney prison with capacity for 1,800 male patients 

  • Our team of clinical & non-clinical employees provide high quality & compassionate care to the inmates
