We have an opportunity for a Pharmacist Lead to join their team of staff in the Oncology department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

  • Provide local hospital leadership for medicines management relating to patients receiving SACT.
  • Act as the senior clinical expert for SACT medicines, ensuring optimal, safe and effective use of oncology medications.
  • Request, review and implement new SACT protocols in a timely manner in line with national guidance and corporate processes.
  • Promote and influence the adoption of evidence-based medicine and nationally published best practice (e.g. NICE, NHSE, UKONS).
  • Act as a core member of the hospital multidisciplinary oncology team (MDT).
  • Attend and contribute to MDT meetings, providing pharmaceutical expertise to support safe and effective treatment planning.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Significant post-registration experience in oncology pharmacy practice.
  • Demonstrable experience providing pharmaceutical care to patients receiving SACT.
  • Completion of, or commitment to completing, CHG SACT Pharmacist Competencies.
  • Strong knowledge of oncology treatment regimens, supportive care and toxicity management.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary oncology teams.
