Pharmaceutical Packaging Mechanic - 1st shift

SUMMARY:
Primary responsibilities include technical operations support in setup, maintenance, and operation of high-speed automatic packaging equipment. Mechanical troubleshooting skills are required to effectively support and assist in the maintenance and operation of automated packaging equipment as required. Maintains a cGMP production environment and standards throughout the production area(s). Adheres to workplace environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures while actively promoting and enforcing adherence.
Essential Duties will require a close-knit integration with various departments including Operations and Quality.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a list of minimum responsibilities related to the Mechanic I position. Other duties may also be assigned.
-Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair machine breakdowns in conjunction with maintenance and engineering personnel.
-Operates packaging equipment in support of daily operations activities.
-Helps train and develop Machine Operators and new mechanic hires.
-Logs data into process check sheets.
-Performs troubleshooting including sensors, setup and adjustment of online printing, barcode scanning, and OCR/OCV vision equipment.
-Verify the Calibration status of measuring gauges including Temperature Controllers and related Thermocouples, Air and Vacuum gauges, and Timers.
-Performs all Preventative and On Demand Maintenance activities and appropriately documents all activities per Sharps procedures.
-Corresponds with team members daily and attends meetings when required.
-Performs preventative maintenance work orders and logs the completion into Blue Mountain.
-Hours will vary based on business needs.

-Sets up various automated packaging equipment systems including removal of
previous tooling, removal and replacement of covers and guarding for access of cleaning crew.

PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma 4 years of industrial automation/packaging experience. A strong desire to learn 
new systems and expand individual knowledgebase is mandatory.
