What you can expect:

You will be empowered to contribute in a meaningful way, add new value to organization initiatives and effect change. You will be placed in either the Public Fixed Income Portfolio Analysis Group (PAG) in Newark, NJ or within Private Fixed Income in Chicago, IL. During your summer internship you will be assigned impactful day-to-day work and projects.

Examples of work our PAG Analysts focus on include:

  • The Analyst in the Portfolio Analysis Group (PAG) evaluates portfolio positioning with respect to risk exposures and alpha objectives, provides portfolio construction and alignment insight, and analyzes performance drivers across a multitude of investment products and processes to deliver performance attribution.
  • Utilizing a variety of analytical tools, the analyst integrates specific client guidelines, objectives, and risk tolerances into the firm’s investment process to ensure complete portfolio management and analytics are in place.
  • The analyst collaborates and works closely with other teams, including Senior PAG Analysts, Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk Managers, the Quantitative Team, Credit Research, Client Advisory, and Sales and Marketing to ensure the Portfolio Management team has the tools and technology required to effectively manage portfolios.
  • The analyst also navigates multiple ad hoc requests and projects that relate to market or portfolio analytics received from all parts of the larger Fixed Income Organization. The analyst partners closely with peers throughout Fixed income to build organizational capabilities.

Examples of work our Private Credit Analysts focus on include:

  • On-the-job experience alongside formal and structured training (training will teach foundational principles as well more broad topics on how to better understand companies and industries, etc.)
  • Conducting industry and company research
  • Creating financial models
  • Writing investment recommendations
  • Conducting portfolio and credit monitoring
  • Preparing marketing materials
  • Exposure to a range of industries including manufacturing, service, distribution, renewable power, and infrastructure

What you’ll need:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program or 5th year master’s program graduating between December 2027 and May 2028
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Prudential does not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Successful candidates must possess the requisite US employment authorization to be eligible for consideration
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

It’d be a plus if you had:

  • Preferred majors: Operations Research, Information/Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics, but all majors considered
  • Experience with Bloomberg, and other technical data analysis/modeling tools desirable
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Interest in investing

Note: The hourly rate for this role is $33.00. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits.
