ROLE SUMMARY:
The Real-World Evidence (RWE) Scientist provides expertise to cross functional teams and Therapeutic Area (TA) Medical colleagues in data generation processes in terms of study design & methodology, biostatistics, data analysis, medical writing as well as internal SOPs as the Non-Interventional Study Lead.
It partners with HCPs, institutions and PAGs to support data generation initiatives based on clinical patient outcome evidence needs. It also creates engagement with customers (HCPs, payors, institutions, and regulatory) and uses local data to demonstrate value of products and provide additional insights that bring value to patients, healthcare and academic society.
The RWE Scientist provides integrated, end-to-end RWE optimization, communication, and maximization of available or newly generated data internally and externally, and also may lead data-based innovative medical initiatives such as digital platforms, to meet core and innovative development, as well as to support Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Heath & Value, Clinical Science & Operation, and other functional teams’ needs.
This role will be in close collaboration with local and global medical, and real-world platform ensuring complete alignment.
This role would play an important role as a part of launch readiness, by preparing product or TA specific data including but not limited to epidemiology and treatment landscape, starting ahead of product launch working closely with pipeline timeline.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and maintain a detailed end-to-end RWE strategic plan and tactics across assigned disease areas to support the data generation for local reimbursement and recommendation by early and proactive HCP/Academia/Medical Society and other relevant stakeholder engagement
Develop tactical plans for the assigned disease areas, co-author NIS protocols, apply high quality methods and designs to inform insights and Medical RWE studies, generate credible and high-quality, protocol-driven Medical RWE
Track innovative and emerging RWE analytical approaches, guidelines, and tools; global regulator, HTA and payer acceptance of RWE; and create plans for integrating these learnings with cross-functional teams where appropriate
Facilitates identification and supports partnerships with appropriate local external databases to address prioritized clinical data gaps and the needs of HCPs, HTA and patients, in close collaboration with PHI, Global RWE platform, Digital and BU medical
May lead and support data based innovative medical initiatives including utilization and application of digital technology, such as AI, machine learning, and data mining, etc. aligned with relevant local regulations
QUALIFICATIONS:
Senior physician with experience or Doctoral degree (PhD) or MSc in epidemiology, clinical epidemiology, health informatics or health data science.
Proven scientific and technical expertise
Understanding of a range of established and innovative real-world research methodologies
Good understanding of and experience working with Korean healthcare data and datasets, with a recognition of their opportunities and challenges
Experience of innovative methods of data collection, including the use of digital technology would be desirable
Local / cluster or regional scope
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Fluency in Korean and business English strongly preferred
