Job Summary: You will serve as a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY SUPPORT SERVICES DIVISON, SECURITY DIVISION, EXECUTIVE SUPPORT OFFICE of PSNS and IMF.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a technical advisor on Personnel Security rules, regulations, and procedures for PSNS and IMF Department Security Coordinators, Supervisors and Managers as well as tenant commands, ships force and contractor personnel.
  • You will serve in an advisory role as liaison in the exchange of information, particularly on procedures and policy and provide advice and guidance on all aspects of personnel procedures and regulations.
  • You will administer all functions associated with processing PSNS and IMF employees for security clearances including but not limited to completion of associated forms, initiation of investigations, verification of eligibility various clearances etc.
  • You will provide direct assistance to subordinates through internal training and counseling on all aspects of their responsibilities with the program office.
  • You will screen and analyze various types of security investigations, ensuring completeness and adequacy of scoping and identifying derogatory information and falsification.
  • You will interpret and analyze medical, legal and financial records associated with the case files.
  • You will provide information to NAVSEA as requested, particularly in association with Congressional inquiries related to security clearance actions and statistical reporting of security clearance activities of PSNS and IMF.
  • You will provide notification of approvals and denials to appropriate personnel staffing specialists and reviewers.
  • You will conduct in-depth personnel security interviews to obtain details related to information associated with security clearance eligibility criteria.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and resolving complex personnel security issues such as personnel clearances, policy interpretation, and system implementation utilizing investigative techniques, suitability criteria, and security protocol for the support of national security programs.
