Temporary position for 3 months.

As a Personal Lines Underwriter, you contribute to the prevention, acceptance or refusal of a risk to be underwritten based on established underwriting policies. You take on a technical expert role and provide support related to your area of activity in the delivery of the Underwriting operation’s mandates and processes, where the importance of knowing how to adapt your approach when the situation requires is essential. You will carry out specialized technical research and analysis related to processes, information management and data processing. Using your ability to make quality decisions, you will contribute to the resolution of technically complex problems, recommend the evolution or adjustment of working methods and procedures and participate in their development in order to optimize quality and efficiency. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Provide technical expertise for complex projects and operational issues in the field of Property and Casualty Insurance underwriting

  • Develop insurance solutions for risk, underwriting files according to current standards and specific circumstances

  • Act as a resource person for stakeholders in underwriting files and the application of underwriting rules as well as in the development of their technical skills

  • Conduct specialized studies, research and technical analyses related to the underwriting of property and casualty insurance products and offer solutions and action plans

  • Support various stakeholders in the application of business standards, processes and solutions as well as in the use of tools and systems related to the activities of the operation.

What you bring to the table

  • College diploma in a related field

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Call Center experience, including two years as a Tier 3 or Tier 4 Insurance agent

  • Advanced Knowledge of PCS / VENT 

  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365.

  • Intermediate knowledge of coaching techniques

  • Available to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday -from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Rotation)
