About the opportunity

At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll create cherished moments each day.

The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for all primary care needs of our residents including ADL care, provision of meals, cleaning and laundry. This role will contribute to a successful and sustainable care culture at our residential aged care homes with a small household living model.

  • Providing care and support to our residents using a person-centered approach.

  • Responsibilities include everyday activities of personal hygiene and activities of daily living.

  • Promoting the physical and emotional well-being of residents by partnering with residents to be involved in the meaningful activities.

  • Undertake care and documentation to the highest standard.

What you’ll bring

You’re reliable, resilient and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are genuinely interested in supporting others and making a difference in your community.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in Aged Care is desirable.

  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.

  • The ability to work effectively within a team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or Individual Support.

  • Current National Police Clearance if available
