Job Title: Personal Care Aide Trainee

SUMMARY:
The Personal Care Aide (PCA) Trainee participates in an approved training program to learn how to provide in-home support services to clients with functional limitations. Under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor and/or nurse, the trainee develops the knowledge and skills necessary to assist clients with activities of daily living in a safe, compassionate, and professional manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in Training – Attend classroom instruction, hands-on clinical sessions, and complete written assignments and evaluations.
Develop Caregiving Skills – Learn and practice personal care, nutrition and feeding, light housekeeping, safe mobility assistance, and proper transfer techniques.
Ensure Quality & Safety – Recognize and report changes in client condition, follow instructor guidance, and demonstrate competency in all required skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability & willingness to provide care within the client’s home environment
Compassionate, patient, and reliable with strong interpersonal skills

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
