Job Summary: This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.

Major Duties:

  • As a PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-11/12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Plans, organizes, and manages front office administrative and executive support services, functions, and activities for the TCCC. Managing all staff office equipment and logistics; monitors administrative functions to detect trends in production, usage, quality, and propriety of services. Responsibilities include overall administrative management of developing USTRANSCOM Commander requirements necessary to meet mission program goals and objectives. Serves as the authority and advises staff on the interpretation and applicability of policies and procedures governing the preparation and processing of correspondence, electronic messages, and reports. Effectively communicates complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident, well organized manner.

Qualifications: You may qualify at the GS- 11, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service: Providing for necessary personnel, administrative support, and equipment support for a front office. Assisting with the development of internal management policies and information systems for a Front Office to assure objectives are effectively accomplished. Assisting with office administration including staff briefings for senior level officials, calendar management, records management, and official correspondence. OR B. You have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, OR an LL.M., if related. OR C. You have some specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and you have more than one year but less than two years of education as described in B. You have computed the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Surveying and providing or arranging for necessary personnel, administrative support, and equipment support for a front office. Proposing and developing internal management policies and information systems for a Front Office to assure objectives are effectively accomplished. Developing, coordinating, and monitoring office administration including staff briefings for senior level officials, calendar management, records management, and official correspondence. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
