Job Summary:
Assists the manager in maintaining efficient workflow within assigned work group. Also responsible for assisting manager with decision making / problem solving issues to ensure customer service levels are maintained at all times. Providing outstanding service through effective perioperative supply chain materials management logistics, inventory management, and supply channel management to clinical departments. Adheres to inventory control procedures for optimal accuracy. Maintains high level of accuracy in the perioperative inventory locations ensuring all material is placed into proper location, correct quantities, material rotation is applied, and items are pulled and delivered to fill customer orders. Ensure cycle count methods are exercised to comply with quality control guidelines. Liaises with clinical staff regarding backorder resolution and reporting.
Position Responsibilities:
Communicates on a consistent basis with customers and associates to ensure customer and departmental needs/requirements are met. Consistently communicates critical information which may impact service levels.
Identifies problems and provides solutions to Supply Chain Leadership.
Understand, operate and ensure staff utilization of Inventory Management Systems to accomplish departmental objectives.
Verify quantity and quality of incoming product using applicable equipment (i.e. handheld or personal computer) and computer system/s.
Maintains and optimizes assigned inventories, ensures First In-First Out (FIFO) is practiced along with adequate right sizing of inventory levels.
Maintains the overall cleanliness, safety and security of the perioperative inventory areas.
Consistently reviews available reports regarding expiration dates, open orders, backorders, PAR level management etc.
Utilizes various systems to report financial data and spend in relation to their appropriate department to Manager Periop Supply Chain.
Utilizes various systems to help create proactive inventory procurement to meet scheduled procedures.
Assist assigned departments through action and education to achieve product standardization, optimum inventory levels and reduction of operating expenses.
Assists clinical staff in communication and resolution of back orders including physicians when necessary.
Leads time in conducting outdated product checks, documents findings and completes required processes related to obsolete and/or dated/expired products. Reports findings to manager and clinical staff with suggested solutions.
Checks e-mails/voicemail, faxes and phone for supply requests and/or delivery/product issues and either resolves or forwards information to appropriate personnel for resolution.
Supports Manager in planning and accomplishing departmental goals and system implementations.
May be asked to participate in physical inventories.
Participates in orientation and training of new employees and others as requested.
Coordinates with IT on systematic/software issues that are problematic.
Performs such other job related duties as may be assigned by instruction form management.
Position Qualifications Required:
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2-year prior materials management experience, in a healthcare surgical and/or procedural (e.g. CCL, EP Lab, OR, etc.) setting preferred.
Basic knowledge/skills in computer use (data entry, email usage).
Required Education:
High school diploma required.
