Call requirement on weekends and holidays. 30 Minute call response time.
Pay Range
$20.40 - $30.60Scheduled Hours: Full Time; Monday through Friday Noon to 8:30 pm, including rotating call for weekends and holidays (must be able to arrive to the hospital within 30 minutes when taking call).
Purpose:
The Perioperative Clinical Technician (PCT) supports the nursing staff in the provision of care to all patients requiring surgical intervention in the operating room. Works under the direction of the RN in accordance with the standards of practice and the mission and philosophy of Advocate Aurora Condell Medical Center. Accountabilities: Responsible for professional growth and self-development objectives. Participates in the preparation of the operating rooms and / or case carts. Ensures the surgery area is appropriately stocked and supplied to meet the needs of the patient and nursing staff. Provides assistance with supportive clinical tasks as defined by policy and procedure and as directed by licensed RN staff.
Position Requirements:
High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
12 months relevant OR or healthcare/clinical experience preferred.
Basic computer skills

CPR certification.
Ability to work in fast paced environment with established constraints.
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.
Ability to perform lifting/transfer activities up to 50lbs.
Ability to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age group of patients. Ability to communicate appropriately within the constraints of the OR environment.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds or when patient is unable to assist with the lift patient handling equipment is expected to be used with at least one other associate when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
