Perfusion Assistant

Los Angeles, CA - Health Sciences Campus Full time

USC Department of Surgery Perfusion Division is recruiting a Perfusion Assistant. The Perfusion Assistant will perform patient care utilizing autotransfusion technology, assist with organ procurement recovery efforts across the western United States, and assist Certified Perfusionists during their patient support/treatment, utilizing cardiopulmonary bypass for all cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries. Maintenance of all department supplies and equipment will be monitored and documented accordingly and regularly. Staff must be able to fly in fixed-wing aircraft and/or helicopters for travel.

 

Minimum Education: High school or equivalent

Minimum Certifications: BLS/CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) BLS/CPR Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Certification

Minimum Experience: <1 year

Minimum Skills: Experience in clinical or research healthcare setting, mechanical ability.
Preferred Education: Related undergraduate study

Preferred Experience: 1 year
Preferred Skills: Knowledge of universal precautions. Experience with perfusion equipment and procedures.
