Location/Division Specific Information:

This position is based at the Thermo Fisher Scientific Detroit manufacturing site, supporting GMP production operations. The site focuses on safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing of high-quality products to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

How Will You Make an Impact?:

The Pan Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating, monitoring, and maintaining pan equipment to ensure consistent product quality. This role directly supports production targets while maintaining strict adherence to safety and cGMP standards.

A Day in the Life:

  • Operate pan equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), batch records, and safety guidelines.

  • Load raw materials, monitor processing parameters, and adjust settings as required to ensure proper operation.

  • Perform routine cleaning, sanitization, and basic equipment checks, documenting all activities accurately.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Required: No previous work experience required
Preferred: Previous work experience in manufacturing, operations, production, or lab setting or related field
Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to follow written instructions, SOPs, and batch records with strong attention to detail

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment

  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and commitment to safety and quality

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs throughout the shift

  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, and cleaning agents

  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
