You will manage the employee support escalations and ensure our employment practices remain fully compliant with ever-changing local labor laws. The ideal candidate is proactive, organised, solutions focused, able to build strong relationships across Cloudflare, and be confident advising on complex HR issues. You will also have experience working across different countries.

What you’ll do:

  • Local compliance/employment policy & interpretation: Ensure all handbooks and policies are compliant with local employment laws. Act as the first point of contact when a "local nuance" is needed for a global policy. Conduct regular audits of people processes to mitigate legal risks and ensure we stay ahead of local legislative changes.
  • Works Council Support: Prepare all necessary data, documentation, and reporting necessary for Works Council meetings in Germany and the Netherlands. Ensure the company strictly adheres to "Right to Information" timelines and other statutory obligations regarding employee representative bodies.
  • In Germany in particular, acting as a central point of contact and partner with Talent Acquisition, HRBP, and managers to prepare the co-determination documents to ensure all hires and employees changes are captured, properly documented and approved by the Works Council in a timely manner.
  • Advisory and Resolution: Support Senior Managers and Directors ensuring a high-touch, solutions-focused experience. You will handle complex queries that fall outside of People Ops Specialists scope, specifically those involving legal interpretation or unique individual circumstances.
  • Manager Enablement: Supporting Regional HR strategies including developing training materials for managers on how to lead and manage international teams within the EMEA legal framework.
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to improving HR processes, documentation, and workflows.
  • Stakeholder Management: Operate as a credible partner for HRBPs, Employee Relations (ER) and Legal teams. You will provide the operational 'how-to' for regional initiatives, ensuring that business goals are achieved without compromising local statutory requirements.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven Experience: You will have previous experience working as an HR Generalist  (ideally multi-country within EMEA) and work in an international environment with advisory responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Works Council experience:  in-depth knowledge of German labor law and being familiar with the German Works Constitution Act is a prerequisite for success in this position.

  • Analytical mindset with proven experience in continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong command of English and fluency in German with the ability to communicate with both Works Council and global teams.
  • Organised, pragmatic, and people-focused.
  • Experience using Workday and Zendeks or other HRIS tools

What Makes Cloudflare Special?

We’re not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We’re a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet.

Project Galileo: Since 2014, we've equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers--at no cost.

Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we've provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.

1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.

Sound like something you’d like to be a part of? We’d love to hear from you!
