Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live on millions of activated devices across five continents, with more than 60 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solution that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.

This role is located in our Mountain View office where we are onsite 3 days a week.

Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo

Skylo is hiring a People Operations Analyst to join our People Team. This person will build a scalable People Operations foundation that streamlines global operations, transforms complex U.S. compliance into automated workflows, and delivers a seamless onboarding experience that integrates new hires into Skylo’s diverse culture. They will also resolve ambiguity in payroll and benefits, ensuring every team member has confidence in their support systems.

How You Will Contribute 

  • Execute end-to-end US payroll coordination to ensure 100% accuracy and compliance across multiple state jurisdictions.
  • Administer comprehensive benefit programs including healthcare and 401k while identifying opportunities to improve employee wellness.
  • Manage complex leave of absence cases, including FMLA and state-specific plans, with empathy and high attention to detail.
  • Partner with legal counsel to coordinate immigration filings and ensure all team members have the right to work and thrive.
  • Audit offer letters and employment documentation to maintain a gold standard of data integrity and legal protection.
  • Navigate federal and state employment law changes to proactively update company policies and reporting procedures.
  • Coordinate all logistics for the employee lifecycle, from high-touch onboarding to respectful and compliant offboarding.
  • Manage workers' compensation and unemployment claims to minimize organizational risk and support impacted employees.
  • Oversee and manage VAT compliance, contractor engagements, and vendor processes.

What We Look For 

  • Apply deep expertise in US federal and state labor laws to solve complex operational challenges.
  • Demonstrate "say/do integrity" by owning payroll and compliance outcomes from start to finish.
  • Navigate high levels of ambiguity to build processes where none currently exist.
  • Communicate effectively across time zones to support a global workforce while based in Mountain View.
  • Use sound judgment to balance speed and quality when managing sensitive employee data.
  • Proven track record of independently defining approaches for benefits administration and leave management.

Additional information

The compensation range for this position is: $115,000 - $130,000. This range reflects the low and high end of the range Skylo reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role.
