SUMMARY 

The People Generalist will collaborate with all associate levels within the organization to bring the associate experience to the next level. The main focus of the role will be to manage the daily administrative and People functions while contributing to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate and execute People plans for associate recognition programs, benefit programs, full-cycle recruitment, payroll review, performance management and recruitment retention strategies.
  • Solve problems and get to the root of concerns, no matter how complex; be proactive and reactive in creating and implementing solutions. 
  • Responsible for all communication with newly hired associates as well as the administration of new hire paperwork.
  • Assist with general office duties including but not limited to, answering incoming calls, creating a welcoming environment for associates and visitors, and answering associate inquiries and walk-ins.
  • Facilitate difficult conversations with associates as needed.
  • Maintain accurate associate records and HRIS data.
  • Support leave of absence administration and accommodation process in compliance with federal, state and local laws such as ADA, FMLA and CFRA.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants and associates, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate person when necessary.
  • Complete accurate data entry and analysis on a consistent and timely basis.
  • Manage employment records, including but not limited to I-9s, personnel files, benefit information and employment records.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience
  • Experience with HRIS systems; Workday preferred
  • Working knowledge of California employment laws, reporting requirements, and unemployment insurance
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous luxury hotel experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Onsite job based in Orange County, California

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments on a timely basis. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates; use of these senses will occur on a constant basis. 

The pay scale* for People Generalist is $28.00.
