Role Purpose

The People Experience Senior Manager is a strategic, tactical and hands‑on partner to business leaders (both in the Netherlands and across the globe), accountable for shaping an engaging, compliant, and future‑ready colleague experience, fully aligned with Pfizer’s enterprise and PX priorities.

The role balances strong local accountability (employee relations, works council engagement, labor law compliance) with enterprise‑level PX transformation, supporting leaders to deliver business results by strengthening culture, talent, organizational design, and workforce capability.

This role plays a critical part in advancing Pfizer’s focus on colleague growth, engagement and experience, while enabling faster decision‑making, project‑based ways of working, and increased use of technology across PX.

Key Accountabilities (What You Will Do)

1. Advance Culture, Growth & Colleague Experience

  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders, supporting leadership effectiveness, engagement and team health.

  • Strengthen the end‑to‑end colleague experience, with particular focus on day‑to‑day experience, trust, development and wellbeing.

  • Embed listening strategies (engagement surveys, pulses, qualitative insights) and translate insights into practical leadership actions.

2. Develop a FutureForward Workforce

  • Advise on organizational design, role clarity and workforce planning, aligned to evolving business needs in the Netherlands.

  • Partner with leaders on talent planning, succession, and pipeline development, ensuring diverse depth and breadth.

  • Support execution of the employee life cycle (such as promotions, transfers, assignments, exits) with consistency, fairness and transparency.

  • Enable leaders to build strong capabilities for today while preparing for the future.

3. Employee Relations, Works Council & Compliance (Critical Local Accountability)

  • Serve as the primary responsible PX partner for Employee Relations in the Netherlands. Act as a steward of a constructive social partnership climate, balancing business needs with colleague trust and sustainable employment relations. Operate with delegated authority from business leadership to represent PX positions in Works Council consultations, in alignment with Legal and Enterprise PX.

  • Lead and manage Works Council engagement and end-to-end process, including social partnership, building a trustful climate, early involvement, preparation of substantiated advice and consent requests, coordination of timelines, and support to leaders in responding. Consultation and negotiation on all relevant topics such as (but not limited to) restructurings, organizational changes, policy updates and benefit topics.

  • Ensure full compliance with Dutch labor legislation, including Works Council legislation (WOR), sickness absence and reintegration requirements (WvP), employment conditions, data privacy, pensions, social security, and occupational health & safety (Arbowet).

  • Provide sound judgement and directly manage or act as escalation point for/coach managers in complex and high-impacting individual and collective ER cases (e.g. re-organizations, performance terminations, disputes), ensuring legal robustness, consistency and social responsibility.

4. Deliver Core PX Processes with Excellence

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of annual PX cycles, including:

    • Performance & development

    • Talent reviews and succession planning

    • Compensation and salary review

  • Coach leaders to use PX tools confidently and effectively, driving manager self‑sufficiency.

  • Collaborate with International PX colleagues, contributing to regional and global initiatives.

  • Ensure strong partnership with Global Business Services (GBS), including Colleague Services and Payroll) and Centers of Excellence, such as Candidate Experience (Recruitment).

  • Oversight of Personnel Administrative activities & templates in close cooperation with the supporting hubs.

  • Own and maintain Netherlands PX policies and local guidance, aligned with enterprise standard.

5. Leverage Technology to Transform PX

  • Drive adoption of PX technologies and insights platforms (e.g. Copilot, Visier, Vee, BetterUp AI Coach).

  • Use data and analytics to guide workforce and talent decisions.

  • Champion tech fluency among leaders and PX colleagues to simplify work and improve outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

Essentials/Must-have

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related field.

  • Extensive experience as a senior People Experience (PX/HR) Business Partner in a complex, matrix organization.

  • Strong knowledge and solid experience of Dutch labor law and Works Council frameworks.

  • Proven experience in organizational change, ER, talent and performance processes.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multinational or pharmaceutical / life sciences environment.

  • Demonstrated involvement in enterprise‑level transformation or restructuring.

  • Strong digital and data literacy across HR / PX platforms.
