Zayo is seeking a People & Culture Operations Lead responsible for executing HR transactions, operational processes, and project-based work related to the People & Culture team (including but not limited to Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, HR Business Partners, Recruiting, Talent, and Learning). As a member of the People & Culture Operations team, you will provide day-to-day operational support while continuously evaluating process design and proactively recommending improvements that enhance efficiency and employee experience.

This position reports to the Manager, People & Culture Operations and collaborates closely with other People & Culture Systems and Services team members. Will also partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders and company employees including Management and provide oversight and direction to People & Culture Operation Specialist team members. Areas of focus may include policy administration, Workday transactions and management actions, and ensuring policies, practices, and procedures are implemented using automation and operational efficiency.

Our ideal candidate resides in the Denver, CO area, operating in a hybrid capacity (2–3 days per week in office and 2–3 days remotely), with flexibility based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • I-9 Administration: Coordinate employee appointments to verify and complete I-9 documentation according to federal guidelines, maintaining organized and confidential records securely and according to company policy, resolving discrepancies or incomplete documentation.

  • Stay up-to-date on I-9 requirements and E-Verify processes.

  • Conduct monthly audits of Form I-9 Receipt documents and Expiring I-9 Reverifications.

  • Workforce Optimization: Project manage operational execution of workforce initiatives, partnering with HR and business leaders to support organizational transitions and planning efforts.

  • Employee Data Management: Maintain data integrity and confidentiality within HR systems; resolving and leading complex issues. Manage Workday reporting and HR data requests prioritization, and delivery to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable workforce insights across the organization.

  • HR Projects: Serve as a lead or contributing partner on HR-related projects; manage assigned initiatives independently or collaboratively.

  • Process Improvement: Partner with the Systems and Services team to design, refine, and implement scalable HR processes.

  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong working relationships with HR Business Partners, leaders, managers, employees, and cross-functional partners.

  • Additional Support: Lead the People & Culture Operation Specialist team members through providing first-level employee support; participate in SOX audits and deliver required reporting; support mergers and acquisitions activity as needed. Manage cross-training across People & Culture Operations functions, including Learning module support, employment verifications, HR inbox management, and company policy administration to ensure high-performing, seamless team support at scale.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of HR operations experience

  • Experience with HRIS platforms (Workday strongly preferred)

  • Experience with I-9 administration and requirements, E-Verify experience preferred

  • Experience with workforce optimization, reduction, and alignment

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (preferably ServiceNow)

Estimated base salary range: $68,100 - $104,700 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
