Join our team! We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join Thomson Reuters in Gdansk, Poland. This role will be responsible to ensure all the payroll accounting areas like regular payroll, bonus, pension, severance, stock-based compensation etc., are accounted accurately. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong analytical, problem-solving, project management and technical accounting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. You must have a positive demeanor with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, functions like HR, finance, payroll and auditors
About the role
In this opportunity as an Accounting Manager, you will:
Conduct a regular review of the balance sheet and highlight and resolve any potential exposures
Support the integration of payroll accounting for the newly acquired entities, as well the divestures for the business sold
Collaborate with IT and other functions to understand any changes in the systems or process and its impact on the accounting
Provide financial guidance and support to general accounting teams and FP&A team on any queries related to accounting processes managed
Foster a strong internal controls environment, including support policies, procedures and protocol
Drive innovation, improving processes, increasing efficiency and change management across payroll accounting process
Collaborate with internal and external auditors in connection with audits and reviews
Preferred experience and working knowledge on statutory reporting and IFRS
About You
You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:
Advanced English proficiency, Spanish would be an asset
Preferred experience working with Automation tools like UI Path, Alteryx and AI tools
7+ years of post-qualification experience and 3 years of which should be in manager level
Experience in finance & accounting and preferred experience of global payroll systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Power BI, and advanced Excel skills
Experience with SAP and associated reporting tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Experience in change management and process improvement
Ability to work and influence senior leadership
