Pensions scheme Manager – Edinburgh (Hybrid)

We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, adaptability, business acumen and a desire to be in front of clients, all underpinned by the required technical skills.

We will count on you to:

The role includes providing consulting advice (as lead consultant and relationship manager) to both trustees of pension schemes and sponsoring employers, including responsibility for the day-to-day management of clients, ensuring that client needs and objectives are understood and appropriate services are delivered to meet these. You will also support senior colleagues on more complex and challenging opportunities. The role also requires providing services on a commercial basis and helping to increase revenue and profitability

  • Providing consulting services to trustee clients. Depending on the client you will either be leading the relationship or supporting senior colleagues

  • Taking responsibility for the commercial and strategic relationship and management of clients within a portfolio

  • Taking a central role in liaising with clients, other team members and other advisers.

  • Where you are leading the relationship, you will be central to the delivery of all Mercer services to the client

  • Attending trustee meetings, overseeing meeting pack preparation, production of minutes and monitoring actions

  • Setting, agreeing and monitoring budgets

  • Supporting the development of more junior colleagues

What you need to have:

  • Experience in consulting and scheme management

  • Proven ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients.

  • A good understanding of current pension issues and how these impact clients.

  • A strong understanding of a range of ways in which UK pension schemes operate.
