Do you have a passion for helping little patients feel safe, comforted, and cared for during some of life's biggest moments? We're looking for a compassionate and skilled PACU nurse to join our team.

As a PACU Nurse, you will play a vital role in helping our young patients wake up gently, safely and with comfort after surgery - while reassuring families that they're in the very best hands. Additional responsibilities include being a partner in the care management team, providing coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care and delegating patient activities as appropriate within a care management assignment. Functions within professional and hospital standards. 

This position requires:

  • Two years or more of prior nursing experience.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or a BSN in order to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse (or equivalent academic and/or professional experience).  A BSN is preferred.

  • A current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin.

  • Knowledge of the principles of neonatal, pediatric and adolescent growth and development and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury and hospitalization.

  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.   

  • PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Hours:

  • 8-hour shifts; in a 2 week pay period, 3 shifts one week and 2 shifts the next week. 

  • Start times vary between 7:30am-9:30am.

  • Weekend call expectations would be roughly every 5th weekend and 3 overnight weekday call shifts between 8:30pm-7:30am, in a 6 week period.
