West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hospital Medicine, is seeking applicants for a Pediatric Hospitalist faculty position (open rank). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV, at WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s. Along with providing excellent patient care, they will be actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. Opportunities are available for participation in clinical and translational research.
The successful candidate will practice pediatric hospital medicine, overseeing the care of medical and surgical patients treated in the Acute Care Unit and Newborn Nursery. They will also oversee advanced practice providers on both the primary inpatient service and the consult service for surgical and other patients. With the addition of this position, the hospitalist group will expand services to be in-house 24 hours per day.
Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalents) and be eligible for a state medical license. They must have completed an accredited pediatric or pediatric/internal medicine residency program, as well as a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship. Successful applicants must be board certified in Pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine or have a pathway to obtain both certifications within five years.
