Job Description
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a PRN Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) physician to join our team in suburban Charleston, SC. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the launch of a brand-new, 16-bed community-based inpatient unit dedicated exclusively to pediatric care.
Located just 10 miles from historic downtown Charleston, this position offers the perfect blend of suburban living with easy access to the city's rich culture, history, and coastal charm.
As part of this role, the selected candidate will play a key role in shaping and growing a new inpatient pediatric program, while fostering strong physician partnerships. The position is fully supported by the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Division within the Department of Pediatrics at MUSC, providing access to a collaborative and experienced leadership team.
Ideal Candidates:
BC or BE physicians in Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Medicine-Pediatrics or General Pediatrics.
Excellent clinical skills, experienced with efficient, direct, family-centered patient care
Strong commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based medicine
Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record platform
Pediatric Advanced Life Support certified (training available)
Opportunity Details:
Care for a diverse group of lower acuity pediatric patients
Collaborate in co-management of surgical and subspeciality patients
Consultation support via Telehealth with the subspecialist physicians of MUSC
Provide care in a newly opened pediatric medical unit
Dedicated new attending call room
No nursery or delivery call required
Emergency Department consults limited to new admissions only
Nocturnist and weekend practitioner positions available
Full-time and part-time opportunities
