DESCRIPTION:
At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll join a collaborative team responsible for orchestrating efficient manufacturing operations across our facilities. As a Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler I, you'll support production planning and scheduling to ensure timely delivery of important products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll optimize resource utilization, manage inventory levels, and maintain production schedules that balance customer demands with manufacturing capabilities.
You'll analyze data to make informed decisions, coordinate with operations teams to resolve production constraints, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. This role is essential in ensuring we meet our commitments to customers while maintaining optimal inventory levels and maximizing operational efficiency. Your work will directly impact our ability to serve customers who are making breakthrough discoveries in healthcare, environmental protection, and food safety.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree required with no prior experience in supply chain/production planning
• Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or related field
• APICS certification or willingness to pursue certification preferred
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, JD Edwards, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Experience in GMP/regulated manufacturing environment preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships across functional teams
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a matrix environment
• Data-driven decision making and reporting skills
• Knowledge of inventory management and production planning principles
• Experience with MRP systems and capacity planning
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional environment
• Additional language skills may be required
