Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services. 

About the Project  

The SIXEP Continuity Plant, being delivered by the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) at Sellafield, will ensure the site’s existing Site Ion Exchange Effluent Plant (SIXEP) facility can continue its vital work for decades to come.

The newbuild SCP facility will play a vital part in Sellafield’s purpose to create a clean and safe environment for future generations. Once operational SCP will ensure the nuclear site will have continued availability to treat and make safe the effluent created by risk reduction activities.

As a result of increasing demand for our services, there are significant opportunities for you to support a key project within the nuclear business.
 

We are currently looking for a PDMS Piping Designer to join the team in Birchwood.

The candidate would provide a supporting role to the Lead Piping Engineer to deliver the process services piping design packages. These include (but are not limited to) HP steam & condensate, process water, compressed air for process plant, active drains, bulk & bottle specialist gas systems and process feeds.

Some of your responsibilities could include:

  • Piping design using E3D (MODEL and DRAW).

  • Production / checking of piping design deliverables.

  • Participation in design reviews.

  • Working collaboratively with all other engineering disciplines, in particular process and mechanical engineers and other designers.

  • Input to & support the Lead Piping Engineer with progress reporting and ensuring successful, timely delivery of work packages.

As a PDMS Piping Designer you will already have:

  • Piping layout / design for complex process plants (new build and brownfield modification).

  • Production of piping design deliverables.

  • Experienced in E3D (MODEL and DRAW).

  • Experience of site liaison to resolve piping and coordination design issues.

  • Fully conversant with relevant industry design guides and standards.
