THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

Private Debt Mobilisation (PDM) within Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (“SCIB”) is looking for an Expert in Export & Agency Finance’ loans distribution (Vice President) based out of Madrid.

The candidate will contribute on a senior level to the development and management of distribution capabilities for Export & Agency Finance transactions. This includes analysing different de-risking alternatives, managing distribution risk and coordinating the sell down processes from different asset classes.

Responsible for:

  • Lead primary syndications in close collaboration with Origination Teams, providing input on terms & conditions, structure, potential participant Investors’ allocations and other key factors to ensure successful closing.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential Investors to enhance market intelligence in terms of Investor’s appetite, market trends and other factors affecting lending and underwriting decisions.
  • Draft and review marketing material such as teasers, information memorandums, invitations, mandate letters and other documentation supporting underwriting efforts.
  • Review Export and Agency Finance documentation to ensure alignment with PDM EAF’s requirements.
  • Prepare and present underwriting proposals to the UW Meeting, advising on pricing, structure, syndication strategy and final holds level to effectively manage the distribution risk.
  • Manage Secondary sales activities by identifying interested potential Investors, being involved in all the documentation process alongside Middle Office and Agency Desk until closing.
  • Monitor and maintain departmental databases to ensure accuracy and consistency of information.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

The role involves close collaboration with:

  • Investors (Banks, Private Insurance Companies and Institutional Investors);
  • Export and Agency Finance teams across different regions;
  • PDM Syndicate and Sales teams within SCIB;
  • Credit Risk teams (for internal approvals); and
  • Legal, Agency Desk and Middle Office departments.

Professional Experience

Ideally, candidates should have at least 6+ years of experience in similar roles either related to Export Finance deals or in distribution capabilities in the financial industry and operational knowledge of syndicated transactions.

Education

  • Degree level of education.

Languages

  • Proficient in English. 
  • Spanish strong recommended.
  • Other languages would be a major added value

Hard Skills

  • Good understanding of the regulatory environment relevant to structured finance and banking activities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Familiarity with financial information platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, Refinitiv) is an advantage.
