Description:

Join our specialized care team in the High Dose Therapy and Ambulatory Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. As a Patient Care Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients through complex treatments, working alongside nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Provide comfort and hygiene support to meet individual patient needs.
  • Technical Support: Assist with testing and treatment procedures, including IV setup and priming, 12-lead ECG, tracheostomy care, dressing changes, CPR, and specimen collection.
  • Equipment Preparation: Help set up and maintain medical equipment for procedures.
  • Patient Transport: Safely assist patients with ambulation and transfers using assistive devices.
  • Communication & Documentation: Accurately document care and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Quality & Efficiency: Use time and resources wisely to promote excellent outcomes and cost-effective care.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Preferred: High School Diploma plus relevant training or experience.
  • Experience:
    • Required: Less than 1 year of related experience.
    • Preferred: 1–2 years in a similar role.
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Required: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA.
    • Must be listed on the Illinois Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry or have equivalent clinical education.

COMPENSATION

 

Pay Range: $20.05 - $26.81 per hour 

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
