What this Job Entails:
The Cost analyst is responsible for delivering comprehensive cost modeling, commodity analytics, and detailed cost assessments and reporting across our product portfolio. A successful candidate must collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners in Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations, and should excel at solving complex problems through critical analysis while driving continuous process improvement. This role serves as a vital contributor to our cost and margin analysis, facilitates bi-weekly and monthly cost forecasting, and provides recommendations for innovative analytical and reporting solutions. Depth of experience in data analysis and cost management is essential for success in this position.
Scope:
Support cost management in early engagement NPI up to mass production. This includes both BOM and non-BOM cost variables such as MVA, Logistics, Warranty, Support, and Capex
Organize our data to uncover deeper insights, identifying cost drivers within the design and potential avenues for cost reduction.
Expected to independently manage routine assessments and reporting.
Candidates will partner with full-time employees on strategic initiatives (like should-cost) aimed at enhancing early-stage cost engagement across design and supply chain operations.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to retrieve engineering BOM and operational inputs for costing purposes.
Ensure Inputs are structured and managed within our internal tools for downstream operations, historicals, and comparative analysis.
Act as the primary custodian for product and program cost data, documenting all change justifications and ensuring they correspond to cost variances.
Collaborate with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and Engineering team to reconcile changes upstream within the design tool and our PLM system.
Triage new components to our global supplier managers for cost inputs such as lead-time, MOQ, unit cost.
Manage cost opportunities & risk associated with both BOM and non-BOM for individual products / programs
Track workstreams to ensure headwinds are mitigated, and opportunities (design/supply-chain) are realized.
Assist in generating bi-weekly/monthly product cost reports for senior leadership. Reports will provide performance metrics against our financial targets.
Be proactive in reviewing information, identifying inconsistencies, trends and issues for management.
Help to prepare communications to management and executive teams on areas of concern and actions required to meet financial commitments.
Help handle automation of reporting within the group; assist in the assessment and implementation of decision support tools

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
Must work PST hours
Capable of synthesizing raw big data efficiently for a multitude of use-cases
Excellent in spreadsheet(Excel/Google sheet) skills, vlookup, pivot table, sumif etc....
Experience building cost models, analyzing cost trends, and assessing opportunities and risk for new or early-stage product development
Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from a four-year college or university and 4 to 6 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary Range
